Instructors:
Rebecca Zenke
Rebecca Mara, RYT, is a certified Kundalini Yoga Instructor trained at Spirit Rising Yoga Foundation in Chicago. As a teen, she became fascinated by yoga because of the mental, spiritual clarity and tranquility that yoga provides. After practicing many styles as an adult, she was drawn to Kundalini, the yoga of awareness which uses mantra breath and meditation to open the heart and strengthen the spirit. The joy yoga brings to peoples' lives is her driving force.
Carrie Zielinski
Carrie discovered Nia in 2001 after being a "gym rat" for decades, spending 2 hours a day working out, rain or shine. Carrie stumbled upon a Nia class and was intrigued by the happy sweaty faces that emerged after class. She became hooked, taking Nia 5-6 days a week. She liked the changes in her body, emotional state and overall sense of well being, and for the first time since childhood, was able to allow herself to experience "joy" in her body, and chose to complete her White Belt Certification in 2005. In 2007, she had a hip replacement with many complications, and became very ill. As she slowly recovered, there was never the option NOT to dance, and thanks to the caring and supportive Nia community and her own determination, she recovered from a series of physical and emotional challenges. As soon as she could use crutches, she returned to class and followed the movements of the upper body while sitting in a chair. This was the foundation for her continued recovery, and Carrie began teaching Nia in 2008. Carrie continued on a journey of personal growth and self healing. She took her Blue Belt Certification in 2009, and as a teacher, she shares the benefits of the tools Nia has given to her.

Kelly
Kelly has practiced yoga for fifteen years, and completed the Kundalini Yoga Teacher Training at The Center For Happiness in Minneapolis, MN. Grateful to share one of the oldest yoga technologies, her first set of classes will focus on the lower chakras to strengthen the navel center, help elimination and digestion, and enhance creative energy. It is said, “Developing the higher centers without the base is like pouring water into a sieve. Without the lower chakras in balance we cannot materialize our desires, or sustain what we have attained in meditation.” Yogi Bhajan
In addition to stretching muscles to maintain strength and flexibility, some of the many benefits of yoga result from pranayam, or breathwork, which promotes mental focus, strengthens the nervous system, and boosts the immune system. Meditation also promotes a sense of inner peace and helps develop intuition.
Please wear comfortable clothing and avoid a heavy meal two hours before class.

Chad Turner
Chad was first introduced to yoga as a form of rejuvenation when he was attempting to address his narcolepsy and excessive fatigue. The more he practiced yoga, the more yoga’s healing power became quickly evident igniting his desire to share yoga’s healing potential with others. With a combination of raw foods and a regular yoga practice, Chad learned how to truly feel his absolute best.
Drawing on his diverse back ground in Living Food instruction, yoga, meditation and superfood living, Chad creates a unique classroom experience in which the yoga practitioner experiences the yoga as a form of healing and a means to feeling their absolute best. Chad’s classes are what he considers “yoga as medicine” and therapy in motion. He offers insight into postures and how they can be used to address a diversity of ailments such as fatigue, back pain, shoulder/neck pain, arthritis, diabetes, fibromyalgia, anxiety/depression, blood pressure, cold/flu/sinus and tense or sore muscles. Chad’s intention is to create within each yoga class a space in which students can disarm themselves and rediscover the joy of living. Chad likes to think of himself more as a Joyologist than a yoga instructor or wholefood coach.
Chad is a registered Yoga instructor who has been practicing and instructing people with yoga for over 5 years. He completed his 325 hour Yoga Instructor Certification in Coonoor, India at TheAyurvedic Retreat Hospital under the direction of Dr. Senthil Kumar. Chad was instructed by Dr. Kumar that Yoga is the first medicine he prescribes.
